All exhibitors must purchase $20 Exhibitor Ticket which entitles you to 25 exhibits, each additional exhibit is $.05 and will admit exhibitor and car any time.

All entries; including those by mail, must be in the office of Secretary by: MONDAY, AUGUST 2

All exhibits must be in place by:  12 NOON, SATURDAY, AUGUST 14 Exhibits will be accepted Friday, August 13, 4pm-8pm and Saturday, AUGUST 14 7am-12pm

Entries will be released between 7 and 9pm. Saturday, August 21th. Entries may also be picked up between 9am and 12 noon on Sunday, AUGUST 22.

If you cannot stay until required release time, please do not make entries.

 

All Season Passes & Membership Tickets Must Be Purchased by Saturday, AUGUST 14, 2010, 9:00 p.m.  Entries will be released between 7 and 9 p.m.  Saturday, August 21.  Entries may also be picked up between 9 am and 12 noon on Sunday, AUGUST 22.

Homemaking Booth Display

Exhibit to display or demonstrate one or more phases of homemaking, showing good practices that will help to build happy homes. It should give helpful information that will contribute to better family and community living.

Open to organizations or community groups in the county.

Each booth must prominently display name of organization making the exhibit.

Each booth must be in place by 12 Noon, Saturday, AUGUST 14.

Scoring and Awards

1. Educational value 50 percent

2. General attractiveness, arrangement and neatness 25 percent

3. Effectiveness in attracting attention, holding interest and convincing individual 25 percent

AWARDS: First: $80, Second: $60, Third: $40, All others meeting requirements $20

Muskingum County Schools

1. Exhibits: All elementary and all secondary schools of Muskingum County are eligible to make exhibits.

2. Exhibits will be of two types, namely: elementary and secondary schools will make separate exhibits which will be graded separately.

3.The content of each exhibit shall be work of the pupils school year.

4. Each booth must prominently display a suitable card giving the name of the school.

5.The exhibits should represent all phases of modern high school or elementary school work. Special emphasis should be given its value and application.

6. The work exhibited must be the original work of pupils.

9. D iscretion and good judgement should be exercised in mounting and arranging the exhibit. Neatness and orderliness should be used at all times. Every attempt should be made to have unified and harmoniously organized exhibit.

10. Each exhibit, elementary and/or secondary, shall receive a grade representing the judges opinion as to the merits of the work and shall be expressed in accordance with the grade given the exhibit by the judges on the following basis:

ELEMENTARY:

In cases of an excess or deficit of the premium money allowed for these exhibits, the amount will be pro-rated on the same basis as the awards are made.

Grange Exhibits

Exhibits open to granges of Muskingum County. Entries close at 4 pm, AUGUST 2.

An exhibit to portray the advancement of the Grange – a fraternal organization, founded on agricultural principles, the first and noblest of all occupations, with an objective to build a better and higher manhood and woman hood and to develop a mutual respect and concern through Brotherhood.

Granges must use theme on September issue of the Ohio Granger, but may interpret and display theme in any manner desired.

The American Flag and Bible to be displayed. (The Grange Flag and State Flag optional.)

Exhibits in which the specifications are not entirely fulfilled will not be disqualified, but will be graded accordingly.

The following scale of points will be the guide for the Judges in making awards:

TOTAL 1000 points

Originality and attractiveness 100 points

Achievements 100 points

Vegetables and/or root crops, 10 varieties 100 points

Fruits, 10 varieties 100 points

Canned fruit, vegetables, pickles or jellies, 10 varieties 100 points

Flowers and plants, 10 varities 100 points

Husked corn, 5 varieties 75 points

Grasses and grains, 5 varieties 75 points

Fancywork, 6 pieces 100 points

Baked goods, 6 varities 100 points

Labeling, correct 50 points

Granges will be paid 20 cents per point earned, and ribbons awarded for first, second and third. Entries must be in place by 12 Noon, AUGUST 15. Exhibits released after 7 pm, August 22. Awards will be paid Saturday, August 22 after 10 am.

Junior Grange Display

Open to all Junior Granges in Muskingum County.  All Exhibits shall consist of work of the Junior Grange, either as a Grange or as individuals of the Grange.  Exhibit to follow theme of current years' work, showing ideals and goals of the Junior Grange and include activities and community service of the Junior Grange.  Junior exhibits to fill one-half the space allocated toa Subordinate Grange  Entries close at 4 pm, AUGUST 3.  Exhibits to be in place by 12 Noon AUGUST 14.  Awards:  First $60; Second $50; Third $40.  Exhibits will be released after 7 pm, Aug. 21
